Exclusive Mandates Only
- FletcherBennett will only accept full mandates to represent clients on an exclusive basis
- Exclusive can refer to a specific product or region, however we cannot execute on a strategic plan for a client if there are others in the same marketplace potentially delivering the story in a manner inconsistent with our own
- This does not include the GP’s own internal sales resources, if they exist
Intimate Strategy & Portfolio Familiarity
- The most effective hedge fund sales professionals (See Important Legal Disclosures) are those that
can speak about the strategy, the process and the portfolio virtually as well as the Portfolio Manager(s) - As a result, FletcherBennett’s Client Captain will participate in the client’s regular investment committee meetings and will have full command of the client portfolio
- While we will protect client confidentiality at all times, we will only represent funds that permit this level of transparency
Outsourced Business Development
- FletcherBennett seeks to deliver a premium level of service and premium results
- As a result, we view ourselves as an outsourced business development firm, and not a so-called “third party marketer”
- We will sit at the strategic table with our clients and truly take on the role of an otherwise internal business development team
We Provide Solutions, Not Push Products
- FletcherBennett’s model is to maintain constructive investor dialogues and data regarding their needs, strategy preferences, risk tolerances, regional interests, assets classes and overall objectives
- Therefore we are not selling client products, we are suggesting solutions
- FletcherBennett maintains regular dialogue with investors we place – even after placement – to maximize the relationship
Preliminary Review
- One FletcherBennett Principal reviews manager materials
- Writes up strategy, performance, investment professionals’ biographies, infrastructure, and risk management procedures
Manager Interview
- Portfolio Manager(s) present to FletcherBennett team
- Full review of collateral materials and due diligence questionnaire by all FletcherBennett Principals
Agree On Terms
- Finalize acceptance of FletcherBennett terms
- This must be agreed to before we will complete the Full Diligence Pack
Full Diligence Pack
- Quantitative verification of risk-adjusted returns and related metrics
- Peer analysis of risk adjusted returns
- Reference checks
- Regulatory & Criminal background checks
Decision Rendered
- Managing Members must be unanimous on acceptance
